She has studied music education topics throughout her educational and professional life, including participating in Carnegie Hall’s yearlong Music Educators Workshop. She has taught at summer programs the Connecticut Valley Harp Intensive, the Luzerne Music Center, and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in West Michigan. Kathryn currently teaches at the Diller-Quaile School of Music, the Dwight School, and Mannes Prep in New York City.
Harp Lessons for composers
A big proponent of new music, Kathryn is very dedicated to educating composers on how to write for the harp. She offers harp lessons that include information on the capabilities of the instrument, and often works as a consultant for composers on their harp music.
Outreach programs
Kathryn often acts as a ringer for youth orchestras, performing both in the ensemble and as a concerto soloist. Along with her performing services, she can offer educational programs that include solo harp music and an engaging discussion about the instrument and life as a musician.
