One of the things that I love about the harp is that the kinds of music people play on it is so diverse. There’s classical harp (which is me), jazz, pop, about as many folk styles as there are cultures - and pretty much anything else you can think of.
Case in point, Lacey Lee!
www.laceyleeharp.com (where you can also buy her cd) and listen to a few of her songs FOR FREE on her Reverb Nation page.
Unfortunately I will still have class from 7-9, but next Thursday, March 28th, will be a super day for pop harp in Rochester, NY. Lacey will be playing at the Little Theatre Cafe from 7:30-9:30. And then after you’ve gone to hear Lacey, you can pop over to the Skylark Lounge to hear Mikaela Davis (mikaeladavis.bandcamp.com), who is on at 10 o'clock. Both are fabulous indie harpists and singers and both are definitely worth hearing live! And I mean, come on - how many times in your life will you be able to hear TWO pop harpists in one night??
